We Honor Veterans

Life Event Center at Florida Memorial and Florida Memorial Gardens understands the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level One Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. In addition, Life Event Center at Florida Memorial and Florida Memorial Gardens proudly supports the AMVETS Department of Florida. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through creating a service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

Special touches for veterans typically include draping the U.S. flag over the body at the time of removal (instead of waiting until the actual funeral service to perform that honor). We display the U.S. and branch-of-service flags in front of our chapel at the funeral or cremation memorial, line the walkway to our funeral home with American flags for every veteran’s service, and line cemetery walkways from the hearse to the burial site with flags to create a walk of honor for the U.S. serviceman or servicewoman.

Florida Memorial Gardens cemetery

Florida Memorial Gardens is a sweeping cemetery in Rockledge. Occupying 89 grassy acres on U.S. Highway 1 in Brevard County, we are located 10 miles from the beach and 1/2 mile east of the Indian River. We have plenty of undeveloped acreage for future generations of Floridians.

A range of burial options

Whatever your burial preference, Florida Memorial Gardens offers a choice that suits your family’s culture and traditions, including ground burial, indoor or outdoor mausoleum entombment, or a memorial choice specific to cremation.

Though most of the park accommodates flush bronze-on-granite markers, there are areas among our 30 named gardens—which are peppered with tall palm trees and reverent religious statues—that allow for upright granite markers, including the family estates along our small lake.

Florida Memorial Gardens has 18 mausoleum buildings and several cremation gardens. The Chapel of Peace Mausoleum is always air conditioned. Situated lakeside, Oak Point Cremation Estates features cremation pedestals along the water.

History

Florida Memorial Funeral Home was built on the grounds of Florida Memorial Gardens in 1959 to serve not just Rockledge, but all of Brevard County. We changed our name to Life Event Center at Florida Memorial in 2012 to reflect the evolving needs of our community and emphasize our passion for celebrating life. We underwent a complete funeral home remodel during this time as well.

Lorraine Fulcher founded Florida Memorial Gardens cemetery in Rockledge in 1958. She transferred ownership to Gene S. Crowe in 1975. Gene then sold the gardens to the Gibraltar Mausoleum Corporation in 1981.

Today, Florida Memorial Gardens and Life Event Center at Florida Memorial are members of the Dignity Memorial^® network of funeral, burial, cremation and cemetery providers.
